Study of vocabulary from the book Genesis verse 15.18

15.18 בְּרֵאשִׁית
בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא כָּרַת יְהוָה אֶת אַבְרָם בְּרִית לֵאמֹר לְזַרְעֲךָ נָתַתִּי אֶת הָאָרֶץ הַזֹּאת מִנְּהַר מִצְרַיִם עַד הַנָּהָר הַגָּדֹל נְהַר פְּרָת
In this day the Eternal made a covenant with Abram, saying : "Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates".

אֶת הָאָרֶץ הַזֹּאת מִנְּהַר מִצְרַיִם עַד הַנָּהָר הַגָּדֹל נְהַר פְּרָת

Syntax

- אֶת הָאָרֶץ : see previous post;
- הָאָרֶץ הַזֹּאת : הַזֹּאת comes as demonstrative pronoun for הָאָרֶץ, and the syntagma could be translates by the earth this one;
- מִנְּהַר מִצְרַיִם עַד הַנָּהָר הַגָּדֹל נְהַר פְּרָת it comes as descriptive for the object of the verb הָאָרֶץ or its substitut demonstrative pronoun הַזֹּאת :
  1. מִנְּהַר composed of the particle מִן (min) whose ן is absorbed to introduce the name נְּהַר (nehar) noun masculine singular;
  2. נְּהַר מִצְרַיִם genitive relation between נְּהַר and מִצְרַיִם (mitzraym) proper noun feminine dual*;
  3. עַד (a'd) or عَد preposition;
  4. הַנָּהָר הַגָּדֹל (ha-naahaar ha-gaadol) נָּהָר noun masculine singular as seen above with prefixed הַ determinant, and the following adjective הַגָּדֹל also with prefixed הַ;
  5. נְהַר פְּרָת (nehar feraat or peraat) genetive relation between נְהַר and פְּרָת proper noun feminine singular.

Morphosemantic

  • הַזֹּאת : composed by the prefixed with הַ determinant (the), the letter ה beeing the archetyp of the ideation, like in the verb הְיוֹת to be, then the pronoun זֹּא or ذَا in arabic. The hebrew ז carries 2 archetypes in arabic, the ز (z) the separation and the arabic pronoun particle ذ (dh) the extraction, the coming forth, by opposition to the archetype د the going ahead, the extension. And the final ת is the feminine mark;
  • מִ and מִן or مِن : translated by from, see the precise meaning here;
  • נָהָר or نَهَار it contains 3 archetypes, ר or ر the tension, constraint, and ה or ه the ideation, the memory, and ن or נ the unity, thus the meaning of נָהָר or نَهَار is the way taken by a flow, aswell light or water, a chanel, which is a constraint for the flow;
  • *מִצְרַיִם or مِصْر in hebrew, this proper noun comes in the dual plural, and the root is צר or صر which is about restriction, and the prefixed מִ or مِ indicates an object, and the vowel i indicates a tool, thus in hebrew it comes in the dual, the instrument of the 2 restrictions litterally, it could be the 2 limits, Red sea and the Nil, or more spiritual meaning;
  • עַד : build upon 2 archetypes, the ע or ع the Perception, something for the mind, and ד or د, as seen above, something extending, ahead. It takes various meaning like perpetuity, for ever, continuing future or as a preposition as far as, even to, until, up to, while or till, during, in arabic it follows the concept with the meaning of counting, numbering, see the subject here;
  • גָּדֹל or جَدل, composed by the etyma גד or جد its semantic field is the intensity. The archetyp ג or ج, the gathering, and the ל or ل the dedication, here with the meaning of a producing something. The adjective and substantive gives the meaning of great;
  • פְּרָת and الفُرَاتُ (al furaat) in arabic, the tradition gives us the meaning of fruitfulness, in arabic, a sweet thing فرت probably borrowed to hebrew, because in arabic it has another meaning, to have lost intelligence like in the etyma فر to recover intelligence. When a t comes as ending a root, it implies the end of something, see the topic here (in french). Anyway, we have 3 archetyp, we saw the R, and the ף or ف is the archetyp of the gap, hence, this word can't mean originally sweet or in relation with fruits, and it will need a deeper investigation.

מִצְרַיִם

From the River to the Sea, the 2 restrictions?

24.6 יְהוֹשֻׁעַ
וָאוֹצִיא אֶת אֲבוֹתֵיכֶם מִמִּצְרַיִם וַתָּבֹאוּ הַיָּמָּה וַיִּרְדְּפוּ מִצְרַיִם אַחֲרֵי אֲבוֹתֵיכֶם בְּרֶכֶב וּבְפָרָשִׁים יַם סוּף
And I brought your fathers out of Egypt, and ye came unto the sea. And the Egyptians pursued after your fathers with chariots and with horsemen unto the Red Sea.
