Here, the dot after each group of words are not usefull. We are not building sentence here, but an extract of sentence. It's exercise. For incomplete sentence, we use the 3 dots :

1. Morphology : Learn the very usefull morphem -eur in french. The equivalent in english it's -er and both come from latin language. This morphem is equivalent to the arabic one فَاعِلٌ so the alif denote -eur in french. The english -er (baker) and french -eur (docteur) have the same pronounciation.

2. For each word stating with a vowel (and mute h), morphology change for the previous word :

Le + ordinateur > L'ordinateur ; de + ordinateur > d'ordinateur ; beau + ordinateur > bel ordinateur (where belle is feminine).

Morphology : the feminine mark ة in arabic it's a final -e in french. Take care with agreement.

Exercice : le verbe

Rouler is a natural verb for a train. Another suitable verbe : circuler.

Note I give the verb with no conjugation, at the infinitive. We recognize a verb at the infinitive with its end : -er or -ir (partir/ذهب); -re (prendre/أخذ).

To make a meanfull sentence with the nominal group and the verbal group with "allumer", we have to use the passive voice :

The verb arrêter can be transitive or intransitive. We keep the transitive way, but we'll add a pronoun, a reflexive pronoun : s'arrêter (self stop).


Arrêter is transitive and it's object is the reflexive pronoun se. This is a particular class of verb. Some grammarians say s'arrêter is intransitive, and other say (as me) that the reflexive pronoun se it's the object of the verb.
